Summer is shaping up to be a busy and exciting time at Beaulieu Community Centre, with plenty of activities, events and community projects taking place.
One initiative we’re particularly proud of is Nourish Foods, our new scheme providing free, healthy meals to local families and individuals who need a helping hand. We’ve already been busy testing delicious recipes and have provided over 50 meals in our first month! We are excited to see the project grow and support more residents in the months ahead.
To help raise awareness and funds for Nourish Foods, our Centre Manager, Noleen Andrews, recently completed the Lake District Ultra Challenge, taking on 100 kilometres of rugged terrain and challenging conditions. Her incredible effort, supported by generous donors, will help us continue developing this valuable community programme.
There is still time to support Nourish Foods. Even a small donation of £2.50 could help provide a meal for someone in our community. If you would like to contribute, please visit JustGiving and search for the campaign Miles for the ManyÂ
Thank you to everyone who has supported Nourish Foods so far. Together, we’re helping to make a real difference in our local community.
As well as celebrating this success, we have plenty of exciting events and opportunities coming up over the next few weeks. Read on to find out what’s happening at your Community Centre and how you can get involved.
Cook StarsÂ
We’re delighted to welcome Cook Stars to Beaulieu Community Centre, bringing their fun and interactive cooking classes for children and young people.
The Juniors & Minis class for children aged 2–11 years takes place every Wednesday from 3:45pm to 5:00pm, giving young chefs the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence in the kitchen and have fun creating delicious recipes.
We’re also pleased to share that Alison will be launching Academy Classes in September for older children and teenagers, offering even more opportunities for budding cooks to develop their culinary skills.
Alternatively, for further information, you can contact Alison directly at alison@cookstars.co.uk.
Community Centre Upgrades!
Over the summer, you may notice that the Community Centre is getting a bit of a facelift! Our wonderful volunteers will be coming together to repaint the Centre, helping to keep it looking fresh and welcoming for the months ahead.
We’re also excited to be having new carpets fitted, which will further enhance the look and comfort of our facilities.
Finally, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to CGCC for awarding us a grant towards improvements at the Community Centre. Thanks to their generous support, our new blinds have now been installed and are already making a fantastic difference. We are incredibly grateful for their contribution, which helps us continue to improve and enhance the Centre for everyone who uses it.
